'It runs like clockwork! Now it is wonderfully warm here,' says the refugee camp's leader Sergeiy.
The inhabitants of the refugee camp have a good reputation locally, so they were able to purchase a new heater on credit. The final payment of EUR 6,300 is due at the beginning of March, but thanks to the Caritas Finland collection for Ukraine the debt can be cleared in February. The collection generated more than EUR 7,500 in donations and the help reaches the refugees in Vynnyky through the local Caritas organisation, Caritas Lviv.
Sergeiy is very grateful for the help received from Finland.
'My dear friends! On behalf of the entire camp I want to thank you for the help received by refugees from Eastern Ukraine. Thanks to your donations we have bought a good heater, which makes it possible for us to keep the camp warm more securely and cheaply. Thank you for helping us in these tough times. It is really important to each one of us. Together we are strong!'

The current unrest in Ukraine is deeply rooted in a persistent lack of rule of law, corruption, disrespect of basic human rights, along with growing socio-economic inequalities. Such a combination of injustice and inequality led to demonstrations where violence was used against peaceful protestors.
