The biggest change within Caritas Finland, however, is that the association’s statutes are changing, which is why we hope members of Caritas Finland will attend the Annual General Meeting on April 23 in large numbers. The AGM will be held in the Parish Hall at St Henry’s Cathedral Parish from 6 p.m. onwards. At the AGM the new statutes will be explained by lawyer Tapio Kortelainen. Bishop Teemu Sippo SCJ and Caritas Finland’s chairwoman Larissa Franz-Koivisto will explain why the changes are necessary.
The aim of the organisation is not changing: we are still working with and for vulnerable people in society both in developing countries and in Finland and neighbouring areas. Caritas is the official aid organisation of the Catholic Church. Caritas Finland is part of the global network of Caritas organisations and a member of Caritas Internationalis and Caritas Europa. Caritas Finland will remain in charge of the annual Advent and Lent Collections in the Diocese of Helsinki.
See you at the AGM!
